Department of Defense Announces Major Contract Awards

The Department of Defense (DoD) has announced several significant contract awards, highlighting the ongoing commitment to enhancing national defense capabilities.

Notably, the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) has awarded a $4 billion research and development contract to a diverse group of companies.

These firms, including Applied Research Associates Inc., Booz Allen Hamilton Inc., Leidos Inc., Peraton Inc., SRC Inc., Two Six Labs LLC (Two Six Technologies), Noblis Inc., Parsons Government Services Inc., and Signalscape Inc., will provide critical scientific and technological solutions to combat weapons of mass destruction.

Each awarded contract focuses on artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, software development, chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear operations, and irregular warfare.

The Air Force has also awarded Leidos Inc. a $738 million contract for IT services in the National Capital Region. In comparison, multiple other firms have received a $220 million contract to support geospatial and general services.

The awarded contracts include comprehensive research, development, testing, evaluation, procurement, and maintenance terms to advance the DoD’s strategic objectives.

The contract duration includes a five-year base period with an optional five-year extension, ensuring long-term support and innovation in defense capabilities.
